After the extension of the 2021 game, there are 16 major sporting events fighting for state aid. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports will provide them with nearly 15 million kuna, because, as the Minister explained, they have promotional and tourism value to Croatia, but no parameters have been established to confirm this.
After publicly appealing to co-finance the organization of major sporting events, the Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac (Nikolina Brnjac) made a decision on the allocation of funds. This call has been implemented for the fourth consecutive year, and by 2021, 44 major events have been co-funded.
“Except for sports significance, all these events have great promotional and tourist value for the Republic of Croatia. This year, we will jointly fund 16 special events, some of which have been recognized worldwide for their values and traditions. Others were held for the first time. All the organizers provided reasons for our support and contributed to the best sports and tourism development in our country.”
