Olympic champions from Tokyo and the world’s finest tennis staff Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić advance to the quarterfinals of the ATP Masters 1000 Championship in Indian Wells. Within the second spherical, they convincingly defeated El Salvador’s Marcel Areval and Dutchman Matvey Middelkup 6:1, 6:3.
Mektic and Pavic’s subsequent rivals can be Australian John Friends and Slovak Filip Polasek, who will search for their tenth championship in Indian Wells in 2021 and can be their first championship after the Tokyo Olympics in August.
One other Croatian tennis participant and Tokyo silver medalist Ivan Dodig will take part within the doubles quarterfinals. He’ll face Italy’s Fabio Fognini and Brazil’s Lorenzo Sonego.
