Former Croatian national team player Duje Čop has been included in the list of players who will start the Dynamo season on Friday. Therefore, his return to Maximil is a matter of form. As far as we know, the 31-year-old Čop only needs to undergo a medical examination. If everything goes well, he can sign a three-year contract with Dynamo. Dynamo’s transfer is free, and a month ago, when he was in Zagreb, Čop agreed to his terms.
Then we met him in the city center and soon discovered that he was not only here as a tourist.
It has been seven years since Duje Čop played the net in Croatian football and greeted the end of the season as the league’s top scorer. Subsequently, he won one of the three titles with Dynamo and won the Croatia Cup twice with Dynamo in 2014 and Hajduk in 2010, where he started his career. He was 17 years old at that time.
The following year, he went to the national team, but also returned to Split from Portugal very quickly, entering the statistics in just five games. In 2012, he came to Dynamo for free, and the club earned 2.5 million euros from his transfer to Cagliari. He did not coach in Italy. He was loaned to Málaga and Atlético de Portugal. Three years ago he transferred to Liege and added another trophy to the list of trophies.

At the beginning of the year, he withdrew from the standard combination, and has not participated in the competition since he played for the Belgian team for the last time on January 11. He entered the final year of his contract and was recently transferred to another team, which clearly shows that he can move on.
Let us remind you that Čop has been a member of the Croatian national team since 2014, when he made his debut against Cyprus and replaced Luka Modric in the game. In the 2016 European Cup qualifiers, he played once in Maximir’s game against Bulgaria, but failed to complete the game. After an hour of play, he replaced Marco Piaca, and one minute before the end of the game, he won a red card for the first time. Ante Čačić included him in the team that participated in the European Championship in France and sent him to the field. Against the then champion Spanish national team, the Croatian team defeated the Spanish national team 2:1. His roster in the World Cup in Russia was wider, but Zlatko Dalic removed him from the passenger list. Qiaopu scored two goals for Croatia in the friendly match.
