ASANO TAKUMA ASANO, a member of the Japanese national team and former guerrilla player, may arrive in Osijek this summer.
Osijek head coach Nenad Bjelica confirmed to Glas Slavonije that the club most often plays on the left wing with Japanese national team players. Asano will become a free agent because he left the guerrilla team due to unpaid salary. Last season, he scored 18 goals and 8 assists for the guerrilla team, making him the best player in the club.
“For me, the guerrilla situation does not exist. I noticed that the people in my environment were worried, but I really didn’t care. I had problems paying wages and the contract was terminated because of worry,” he said. Said at the national team meeting recently.
Asano is a big hope for football. In 2016, Arsenal introduced him from Japan for 4 million euros. He was first loaned to Stuttgart and then to Hannover, where the guerrillas bought him for 1 million euros two years ago. He had the best performance in the guerrilla team, scoring 30 goals and sending 15 assists. He played 45 games for Stuttgart, with 5 goals and 5 assists statistics, while in Hannover he played 15 times with 1 goal and 1 assist. He played 24 games for the Japanese national team and scored 5 goals.
Earlier, Osijek brought Šimo Gržan, Amer Hiroš and Slavko Bralić to next season.
