Apple has had several issues in Europe over the past few years due to anti-competitive policies. Spotify has filed complaints against Apple that have led to new problems for the Cupertino-based giant.
The original complaint of the music streaming company was made in 2019. It concerns the App Store’s payment policies. Apple prohibits payments from outside its ecosystem and charges fees for all transactions.
Spotify filed the complaint with European Union. They decided to launch an investigation. All indications are that the results will soon be known, which could mean a significant fine for Cupertino’s giant. These same acts were also alleged by the European Commission last year.
