England coach Gareth Southgate expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s performance in the final game before the European Cup. Rashford took a penalty kick, England beat Romania 1-0.
“I don’t like the way we play without the ball. Our defense is not disciplined and the return is not good. The midfield is stretched, the defensive pressure is too great, and we must cover more space. We are not good enough. .”,He says.
He knew he had to play better in the European Cup.
“There is no doubt that there is room for improvement. We still have a lot of work to do. We cannot give our opponents so many opportunities because we have allowed Romania and expect impunity.”
He is still not sure which team he will play against Croatia, and he hopes that no more players will disappear from the roster. As a reminder, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mason Greenwood retired at the last minute due to injuries.
“The best team in Croatia may not be the best team in Scotland. We need to make sure we make the right decision,” Southgate said.
“In the past 12 months, every time I wrote a composition on paper, I had to delete it because we don’t have players. I can’t wait to have the final lineup, I hope there will be no injuries. And diseases in the next few days,” he concluded.
