TRIPADVISOR is an online travel platform on which visitors can leave their own comments on the places they visit, and for this purpose, comment on the death camp of Nazi Auschwitz (Nazi Auschwitz).
In other words, a user described the visit to Auschwitz as “family entertainment”, in which the Nazis killed more than 1 million people, and TripAdvisor kept its comments on the platform instead of deleting it.
In the same comment, the user wrote that he took the newborn to a gas chamber. Let us recall that these gas chambers were used by the Nazis in Auschwitz to kill as many people as possible with industrial efficiency, mainly Jews. Among the victims, there were a large number of women and children.
The Auschwitz Museum announced that when they first contacted TripAdvisor, they were told that such posts did not violate the rules of the platform. But shortly thereafter, the comment was deleted and the person who wrote the comment was blocked.
TripAdvisor said in a press release that it is using a “mixture of technology and personnel” to review user reviews. In this case, “the initial review failed to identify the review as promoting intolerance.”
TripAdvisor said: “We always guess from the beginning. We apologize to the Auschwitz Museum, the Jewish community, and all communities and individuals who were affected by our initial mistakes.”
The Auschwitz Museum finally thanked TripAdvisor on Twitter.
