According to data from the Ministry of Finance, in the first three months of this year, NHS expenditures on health personnel “surged” by 10.4%.
Compared with 2020, the total expenditure of the National Health Service (SNS) in the first quarter of this year (160.2 million euros) increased by 5.9% to 2.88838 million euros.
According to official sources from the Ministry of Finance, data released to Lusa on Friday showed that in the first three months of this year, expenditures on national health services and health personnel “surged” by 10.4% (plus 119.6 million euros). The number of personnel (plus 10,829 workers) increased by 8% year-on-year.
Among the number of new workers hired by SNS, “Finance” focused on the increase in the number of nurses. Among them, service staff increased by 7.5% (3,428 workers) and operation assistants increased by 14.5% (3,927 workers).
According to sources, spending on the purchase of goods and services increased by 3.8%, equivalent to 55.7 million euros.
The figures known today are expected to release the Executive Summary of the Budget of the Directorate General of Budget (DGO), which will be released on Monday.
