In the first round of Group D of the European Championship, the Czech national team defeated Scotland 2-0 with two goals from Patrick Sigg.
His goal in the 52nd minute came to the fore, and his 45-meter shot was transferred to Scottish goalkeeper Marshall. This goal entered the history of the European Championship as the longest-range goal since 1980.

Sick revealed after the game that he had seen Marshall standing far from the goal in the first half, and then decided to try to lob him.
“I noticed Marshall standing far from the goal in the first half. If I had a chance, I decided to try to lob him. When the ball flew to me, I didn’t expect it. I just fired and scored a nice goal. The ball,” he said.
The Czech Republic will play the next game against Croatia at 18:00 on Friday.
