Sándor Puhl passed away on May 20 at the age of 65. His farewell ceremony was held on Wednesday in the sub-church of St. Stephen’s Basilica with mourning family and friends. The ceremony was presided over by László Rigó Kiss, Bishop of Szeged-Canad. He judged Sándorpuhl in the final of the World Championship, the Champions League final, he was selected as the best referee in the world four times, he is the highest evaluation of the Hungarian referee. From 2000 to 2006, he served as the vice chairman of MLSZ, until 2006, as a member of MOB, he personally represented football in the Olympic Games. Until 2006, he was a member of the FIFA Referee Committee. From 2000 to 2007, he served as chairman of the MLSZ referee committee. He has also served as an inspector for the European Football Association (UEFA) international referees and has served as the vice chairman of the MLSZ referee committee since 2011.
