UEFA announced on Wednesday that it has imposed disciplinary actions on the Turin giants Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Juventus.
The reason is that the planned Super League is different from the other nine founding members of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Milan and Inter Milan. The three have not yet officially alienated.
The statement said: “The UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector is today responsible for conducting disciplinary investigations into the so-called Super League projects that Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus may violate the legal framework of the European Union.”
For clubs, disciplinary sanctions for violating UEFA regulations include the most severe expulsion from current or future matches, as well as a ban on officials’ banning of football-related activities.
