The European Union stated that officials from Iran, China, Russia, France, Germany and the United Kingdom will continue negotiations next week on the U.S. resuming the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran.
Officials appointed by EU Foreign Affairs Representative Joseph Borrell presided over the meeting in Vienna in the presence of the Joint Committee on the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (ZSAP).
The EU statement said: “The Joint Commission heard briefings on the work of the two expert groups on lifting sanctions and nuclear enforcement measures, and the participants had constructive discussions aimed at achieving results,” the EU statement said.
It said: “Considering the joint ministerial statement on December 21, the participants decided to continue further joint diplomatic work. The coordinator will continue to contact all ZSAP and U.S. participants respectively.”
The experts will continue to work “next week”.
