It is not clear when the new Osijek stadium will be opened in Pampas. Hyundai’s last 12,000-seat seat was supposed to be last summer, but former Osijek President Ivan Mestrovic (Ivan Mestrovic) gave the contractor another year to complete the work.
It was mentioned that the construction work could be completed before the deadline, and the first game was on December 2nd in Osijek City. But for now, Osijek is more likely to play in the entire city garden next season. According to the latest information, the opening of the new stadium is planned to begin in the summer of 2022. Construction began in September 2019.
Compared with the original project, some changes have taken place. The skylight cabin with jacuzzi is abandoned, and you should have a view of the fields.
Today, we heard a big news about the name that Osijek’s new home will use. Negotiations are ongoing with a new general sponsor who should purchase the name of the stadium as part of the long-term service. The club does not want to disclose the details before the contract is signed, but, as we have discovered, the negotiations are at a serious stage. After signing the cooperation agreement, Osijek will be sold publicly in the name of the general sponsor, which will bring more financial stability to the club. If the negotiations are successful, the Osijek Stadium will be the first stadium in Croatia to appear as a general sponsor and will become one of the most modern football stadiums in the region.
