Less than a year ago, Wlazły moved to Trefl Gdańsk after playing for PGE Skra Bełchatów’s PlusLiga for 17 seasons. At that time, he had already stated that this was no short-distance adventure-the volleyball player lived in the three cities, and he knew the coach Michał Winiarski very well. He had played for PGE Skra or the Polish national team for several years. .
Now Trefl Gdańsk has confirmed that the next PlusLiga season will appear as the next name in its composition. It was announced earlier that coach Michał Winiarski or host Moritz Reichert will stay in Trefl, and now it is the attacker’s turn.
However, compared to last season, there is little change here: Mariusz Wlazły and Kewin Sasak are still at the club, this is the fourth season of the Gdansk team. -I am very happy that I can also represent the colors of Trefl Gdańsk next season. My whole family feels good here, and living in Gdansk has many advantages. Trev Gdansk itself is also a great place on the Polish volleyball map, where you can enjoy trains and games to the fullest-Mariusz Wlazły quoted him on the club’s official website In case, a one-year contract was signed with him.
-What was missing last season and what I was waiting for in the next game was the Ergo Arena booth, full of enthusiasm from the audience and cheers from the fans. I hope we will taste it soon-Wlazły added.
In the 2020/2021 season, Wlazły averaged 16 points per game-the highest because he won 25 points against Verva Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. Overall, he scored 408 points in attacks, which was almost 50% (330 out of 662 attacks were completed). His club eventually finished sixth on PlusLiga and reached the semi-finals of the Polish Cup, where they lost to Jastrzębski Węgiel.
In addition to playing for PGE Skra Bełchatów and now Trefl Gdańsk, Mariusz Wlazły is also the representative of Poland. He played a total of 155 times in the national team. The attacker ended his international career after winning the World Cup in September 2014.
