Atletico Madrid lost 1-0 from Seville in the 29th round of the Spanish Football Champions League on Sunday night.
In the first half of these two almost BL starting teams, Sevilla played one of the best 45 minutes since Julen Lopetegui took control of the team in the summer of 2019. The same cannot be said for guests who are clearly weaker than their opponents.
It’s not a good goal, but Diego Simeone’s free kick after 34 minutes somehow passed the goalkeeper. This is necessary because the leader of the list can only be attributed to Jan Oblak, who was not adversely affected by more targets from the beginning and escaped without a target.
The Slovenian goalkeeper defended Lucas Ocampos’s penalty in the 8th minute and was able to offset the shots of Jesús Navas and Suso.
After Luuk De Jong failed to score in the first half of the second half, Loppetgui gave Youssef En-Nesyri a chance.
In the 66th minute, Seville’s goalkeeper Bono had to perform well in Coca-Cola’s distant bounce. A minute later, Ocampos also fired from outside on the 16th, but Oblak’s time was easier.
In the 70th minute, Marcos Acuna led Sevilla to the lead. Argentina’s Jesús Navas made an amazing save. Although the home team’s goal was first aid, the referee still scored.
Even Alejandro Gómez performed on stage in Seville, so they can still remain dangerous. Although Atlético’s offense equalized and managed to enter a winning streak through Correa in the 91st minute, Bono saved the home run by showing the game’s maximum defensive power. Sevilla therefore defeated the top 1-0.
Diego Simeone’s team still leads La Liga, but Barcelona and Real Madrid are getting closer. Athletes may be lucky that the two opponents will face each other in the next round of competition. The last El Clásico game of the season will start at 9pm on April 10th (Saturday).
