A naval medical worker in Maryland, the United States, shot and killed two people today, and injured a serious one. He then fled to a nearby military base, where he was killed.
The Associated Press reported that an armed man entered the commercial complex of the Riverside Science and Technology Park in Frederick Township, and people began to flee the complex shortly afterwards. It is not clear whether he opened fire in the complex or outside.
After the attack, the man got in the car and drove to Fort Frederick military base 10 minutes away. Police Chief Jason Lando told reporters that he was shot by the police there and had been following him.
The U.S. Navy did not disclose any other details about the attack. A statement issued by the Pentagon stated that shootings were recorded only at military bases, and a naval paramedic was later killed.
Lando said: “We have two different locations. All I can tell you is that only one attacker has been confirmed. The public is no longer in danger and everyone is safe.”
