Révész Racing driver and two-time European champion Kiss Norbert won the second race of the season opener of the Speed Truck European Championship in Hungaroring, Hungary on Sunday.
The 36-year-old from Szombathely started eighth in the early afternoon race. Under the reverse start rule, the top eight finishers of the race will stand in reverse order at the beginning of the next race.
Kiss caught the start of the roll very well and chose the outer corner in the first corner, which gave him an advantage in the second corner. The Hungarian player ranked sixth at the end of the first lap, and shortly afterwards he ranked fourth and then third. When the fifth lap was completed, Halm took the lead, followed by Laco and Keith, the three of them completed in less than a second.
At the end of the seventh lap, Keith used his opponent’s shortcomings to attack Deco at the finish line, and he exceeded the first braking distance. At the beginning of the next lap, the Révész Racing driver successfully performed the same action on Halm and took the lead.
Until the fall, Keith confidently established a reassuring advantage for himself in a few seconds, and well-deservedly defeated his home audience. The second place is Halm, and the third place is Luck.
Kiss Norbert was also the fastest in the Saturday morning time trial, but was forced to stand out in the first game due to a technical error. The second game, originally scheduled for Saturday, could not be held because an accident damaged the rubber walls and railings on the track and it took a long time to recover.
The European Championships will continue at the Nürburgring in mid-July.
