One of Facebook’s priorities is an Instagram version for users under the age of 13. The entire project is reportedly led by the main figure of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, and the project will be led by Facebook vice president Pavni Diwanji. She has also worked on platforms like YouTube Kids, but still works for Google.
All of this happened a few days after Instagram introduced a new method of protecting children on its platform. That is, children under 13 should not even use the app, but this does not prevent some people from forging birthdays, thus bypassing control. This is why we are committed to AI solutions and machine learning to protect minors.
For example, adults cannot follow children under the age of 18, and the new protection system will make it more difficult for seniors to find young people in recommendations such as Reels.
The appearance of the application is not yet known, because the project is still in its earliest stages and there is no detailed plan.
