These projects will start in 2021
Kazakhstan plans to start implementing 4 new road projects with a total length of 607 kilometers. The Kapital.kz Business Information Center reported that Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, expressed this at a government meeting.
The 427-kilometer Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan highway will be reconstructed. The project will be implemented at the cost of loans from ADB and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development under state guarantees.
“By the end of this year, it is planned to sign a credit agreement with the bank to identify the contractor to start the project. “Kazavtozor” is finally passing the feasibility study of the economic review. At the same time, the bank is evaluating the project.
In 2021, construction of a 30-kilometer bypass in eastern Turkestan will begin. The project will be implemented by saving the World Bank loan on December 8, 2020. It is planned to start in the second half of 2021. Currently, the consultant is completing the feasibility study of the feasibility study to pass the economic review, while the bank is preparing an additional draft loan agreement.
The third project is the construction of the Shymkent Southwest Bypass, with a total length of 48 kilometers. The project is being developed through a public-private partnership mechanism. The fourth project is the construction of a 102-kilometer Saryagash bypass with the support of ADB.
