Kamala Harris had to return due to technical problems when the US Vice President was heading to Guatemala. This was her first international trip.
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” Harris promised, raising two fingers and smiling after landing, “We all made short prayers, but we are fine.”
The vice president quickly flew to Guatemala on another plane.
“This is a technical issue. We are not worried about the safety of the former California senator,” said her spokeswoman, Symone Sanders.
A reporter on Air Force No. 2 plane said that he heard “abnormal noise from the landing gear” during takeoff.
“But landings (…) are very common,” she added.
