Several employees of the Austrian metallurgical company Voestalpine were vaccinated with the same needle. This was a medical error reported to the judiciary.
The health center responsible for vaccination reports that in a factory with 500 employees in Mürzzuschlag in the southeast of the country, “we found that the number of vaccination kits used by a doctor did not match the number of people vaccinated”.
The doctor who vaccinated 59 people said she may have used needles many times. She was immediately removed from office. The reason for the error is not stated. The case has been reported to the Medical Chamber, the health authorities and the National Prosecutor’s Office.
In a statement sent to AFP, voestalpine asked to determine how this error occurred. Voestalpine has provided psychological assistance to relevant employees and is considering criminal charges. The Austrian government has provided vaccine doses to the company.
