The closed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny was nominated by the European Parliament for the annual Andrey Sakharov Human Rights Award in the present day.
Navalny, 45, was poisoned to demise by a nerve agent in August 2020 and served 2.5 years in jail for violating probation.
Navalny believes that this sentence was politically motivated, and Brussels has imposed sanctions on Russian officers who poisoned and imprisoned Navalny.
