According to Italian media reports, the 62-year-old Italian football expert Maurizio Sarri will become Lazio’s new coach this week.
In June 2019, Sarri signed a three-year contract with Juventus. Although he won the Serie A title, he was dismissed after being relegated from Lyon in the last 16 of the Champions League last August. Prior to this, he successfully led Naples (2015-2018) for three years and spent one season (2018-2019) on the Chelsea bench.
Earlier, Italian media reported that Lazio was prepared to provide the 62-year-old coach with an annual salary of 2.5 million euros and a bonus of up to 4 million euros. Sarri, who has coached 18 clubs in his career, and his agent both insisted on a salary of 3 million euros. It is not clear what the final agreed salary is.
