In recent years, Xavi has been a candidate for the Barcelona coach many times, but the Catalan club will always choose a more experienced coach.
And this summer, many people think that Harvey will replace Koeman, the coach who underperformed in Barcelona last season. However, the leaders of the Catalan club decided to give Koeman a chance next season.
“I’m always in the market,” said Xavi, who spent 17 years in Barcelona and now coaches Alsad in Qatar.
“However, in the past three to four months, I have not been in contact with the Barcelona management or Chairman Joan Laporte. They decided to continue working with Coman and I wish the club all the best.”
Harvey made no secret of his desire to become Barcelona’s coach.
“I think I am ready for Barcelona. I understand the club, the atmosphere, the environment… But Koeman is still a coach and this must be respected.”
