Dynamo’s football players confirmed their opponents in the second round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers on Wednesday. After skipping Valur in Iceland in the first round, the Croatian champion went to Omonia, Cyprus in the second round.
The club from Nicosia rescued Ararat, Legia and Red Star in the Champions League last year, and then retired in the playoffs against Olympiacos. In the Europa League, he participated in group matches including PSV, Granada and Paok and won four points, all of which were in rehearsals with the Greek team.
His former coach Wahid Khalikhodzic told The Index what Dynamo can do this season and what it takes to become a club that regularly participates in famous European football matches.
“After several years of very unpleasant experiences in European competitions, especially in the UEFA Champions League, Dynamo often appears in Europe. He has experience, confidence and a winning mentality, based on the fact that he should not be in the next game. There are any questions,” Harry Horditch was sure, he concluded:
“Dinamo only needs to enter the Champions League group stage and don’t have any false optimism. This is a real possibility, and it must be the goal of a club like Dynamo. We are talking about a company that has success. I hope it can enter the Champions League group again this year. After that, it’s hard to say whether he can do anything in the next stage. Such a team must agree and must be together for two or three years. Good players cannot be sold, reinforcements must be brought in. In that case, the club will go to the next level.”
