After the Bahrain Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton criticized Max Verstappen. The British champion of this race believed that the Dutchman should have more patience before the overtaking action he was discussed.
Hamilton said: “Max’s tires are much newer than mine, so he should be more patient.” Hamilton pitted on the 11th lap before Verstappen. Ziggo Sport.
“He shouldn’t attack me there. I deliberately braked very late to force him to open. This made him off the track and caught up to me. He violated the rules. I knew he had to return me to me.”
After Verstappen chased up, the race management told Red Bull that the ten-time Grand Prix winner must return the lead to Hamilton. In the remaining laps, Verstappen was no longer able to attack Hamilton’s Mercedes and finished second.
Hamilton was very impressed with Red Bull’s car and did not expect to win the Bahrain Grand Prix. “They are so fast,” he went on to talk about the Limburg team.
“Max Racing is in top condition and they have a great car. The engines they build there are very powerful. Under these conditions, I am happier than usual to win this race.”
The Formula One season will resume in three weeks in Imola, Italy.
