Germany has been fighting the third coronavirus pandemic for several weeks, and so far, it can be said that it has not won that battle. The latest dramatic appeals of famous German scientists Christian Karagiannidis and Christian Drosten confirm this.
According to German media reports, in the past few weeks, more and more covid-19 patients have been transferred to intensive care units throughout Germany, with fewer and fewer free beds.
“Please take action eventually,” Christian Karagiannidis, the scientific director of the Divi Intensive Care Registry, strongly asked the German authorities on Twitter.
The famous German virologist Christian Drosten immediately added him to the appeal, describing Karajinidis’ request as an “urgent help.”
In German cities such as Bonn, Bremen and Cologne, there are almost no free hospital beds for patients suffering from serious heart attacks or car accidents, as well as patients infected with the coronavirus.
“Dear politician, how much should the number of people increase before you decide to make a final response?” Karagiannidis made a strong request on Twitter, which was subsequently reported by many German media.
