The basketball teams of Gonzaga and Baylor University advanced to the finals of the NCAA Grand University Championship.
After a fierce overtime game in overtime, Gonzaga defeated UCLA 93:90 in the semifinals at Lucas Petroleum Stadium in Indianapolis, and Baylor with a convincing 78 :59 beat Houston.
Gonzaga will enter the final for the second time in history. Although they are on the verge of extraordinary achievement, they have not yet won the title. In other words, for the Bulldogs, this was the 31st consecutive win, and only one person separated them from their first championship and undefeated season, the latest in the NCAA 45 years ago.
They were also lucky because they entered the championship game with a three-pointer from defender Jalen Suggs, who was nearly half of the field, in the last second of overtime.
Baylor also does not have a championship title, they have only participated in the finals once in the past-1948.
Gonzaga is a private Catholic university located in Spokane, Washington, and Baylor University is located in Waco, Texas.
