Maurizio Sarri has become the head coach of Italy’s leading football player SS Lazio.
A sentence on the Club of Rome website announced on Wednesday only confirmed the appointment of the 62-year-old person in charge. According to Italian sports media reports, his contract is two years and his salary per season is slightly more than 3 million euros, up to 4 million euros including insurance premiums.
Sarri has been a coach since 1990, but has achieved the greatest success in recent years: winning the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2019 and winning the Italian Championship with Juventus last year. He also spent one season in London and Turin. Before that, he coached Naples for three years. In all three seasons he was on the Serie A podium.
Lazio’s head coach ranked sixth last season and has been Simeone Inzaghi since 2016, but he will continue to lead the league’s defending champion Inter Milan.
