The Finnish World Rally Championship champion Hannu Mikkola (Hannu Mikkola) died at the age of 78. His son was declared dead at the scene in his community on Saturday. He said his father is suffering from cancer.
Mikola won the world championship in 1983, three times for the second time and three times for the third time. From 1973 to 1993, he participated in 123 World Series competitions, stood on the podium 44 times and won 18 times.
Sebastien Ogier, who won the French World Cup seven times, expressed his social condolences when he heard the news.
“It is a sad day for our sport. A legend is left to us. Hannu Mikkola won the championship in the year I was born, although he was not honored personally. Meet, but his departure is very sad. He will always be one of them. The greatest. Then remember it,” he wrote.
The Spaniard has won the World Cup twice, Carlos Sainz (Carlos Sainz) emphasized: Mikola is one of the best racers of all time.
