In Portugal, construction production in February fell 4.8% from the same month in 2020, and fell 0.6% from the previous month.
Eurostat revealed on Monday that compared with the same month, construction production in the euro zone fell by 5.8% in February 2021, and construction production in the EU fell by 5.4%.
From a month-on-month perspective, compared with January, the output value of the construction industry in the Eurozone fell by 2.1%, and the output value of the construction industry in the European Union fell by 1.6%.
According to Eurostat data, among the member states for which data are available, the countries with the largest decline in the construction industry are Slovakia (-24.4%), Poland (-18.1%) and Spain (-17.1%).
Only three member states recorded year-on-year growth: Sweden (5.8%), Austria (3.6%) and Romania (1.6%).
Compared with January, Hungary’s construction output fell the most (-11.7%), Poland (-6.9%), France and Slovakia (-6.0% each). Sweden (9.2%), Austria (8.8%), Romania (2.3%) and Bulgaria (0.2%) increased.
In Portugal, production fell by 4.8% year-on-year and fell by 0.6% during the quarter.
