The hotel owner said on Thursday that after some employees tested positive for covid-19, a hotel that included members of the German delegation participating in the G7 summit in England had closed.
The owner of the Peden Olva Hotel in St. Louis said that Ives is a seaside town near the site of the three-day G7 summit in southwest England. According to the recommendations of health officials and local authorities, the town has temporarily closed.
According to US media reports, among his guests were members of the security department of the German delegation and reporters working for American television.
“After meetings with PHE (British Medical Service) and the Cornwall Commission in recent days, we decided to close the hotel completely,” a spokesperson for the owner said.
“Given the limited accommodation options available in the area, we are fully aware of this issue, but the safety of our team and guests is a top priority,” he added.
He explained that the hotel will reopen when the disinfection is complete and there are enough staff.
