Digital freight forwarder Zencargo has raised 35 million euros through Series B financing. The money will be used to open an office in the Netherlands, making the Netherlands a gateway between the UK and the rest of Europe.
Zencargo is a digital freight forwarder that can transport goods by sea, land and air. Despite the huge volume of goods shipped each year, many traditional freight forwarders still rely on time-consuming manual procedures, using paper, spreadsheets, and email.
Rotterdam and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol are one of the important services provided by customers who want to transport goods to and from Europe, so the expansion to the Netherlands is obvious.
In the next two years, the team will expand internationally in the Netherlands, Hong Kong and the United States, from 150 to 350.
Zencargo was founded in 2017 by Alex Hersham (CEO), Richard Fattal (CCO) and Jan Riethmayer, and its number of employees has more than doubled in the past year.
The UK platform has now acquired a total of 42 million pounds, and the goal is to have a turnover of 100 million pounds this year and more than 200 million pounds by 2022.
