According to reports, the very popular actor Rege-Jean Page (Rege-Jean Page) failed to play Superman’s grandfather because he is black.
Actor Ray Fisher made this request in an interview with “Hollywood Reporter”, referring to the TV series “rypto” released by DC in 2018. Her plot is based on events before the birth of Superman, and the role of Superman’s grandfather was eventually given to Cameron Cuffe.
According to reports, many members of the film crew advocated the idea of non-traditional actors, but Fisher claimed that DC co-chairman Geoff Johns blocked this claim, saying that Superman cannot have a black grandfather. Allegedly, Johns also rejected the idea that the role of Adam Strange is gay or bisexual.
A Johns spokesperson defended him: “Jeff never said that Superman cannot be black or he cannot have black ancestors. Over the decades, Superman has appeared in various forms, so he is and can be diverse.” He added: “Jeff supports LGBTQ characters, including Batman who was reintroduced into LGBTQ in the 2006 comic series. Jeff is one of them.”
