As a precaution, Daniele De Rossi, the technical coach of the Italian national football team, tested positive for the coronavirus and was taken to a hospital in Rome.
Sky TV reported on Friday that the 37-year-old professional was taken to the agency after being found infected with three other staff and several national team members in the March World Cup qualifiers.
The former AS Roma midfielder has been shortlisted for the Italian national team 117 times, placing him fourth in the permanent ranking. He joined the staff of Federal Captain Roberto Mancini in March.
Among the players of the national team are Federico Bernardski, Leonardo Bonucci, Alessio Craigno, Vincenzo Grifio, Alessandro Florenzi, Marco Verrati, Matteo Pesina and Salvatore Sirigo have tested positive for the coronavirus.
