The Center for International Sports Research (CIES) has released the latest ranking of the most valuable football players in the world. The top three are occupied by the British.
The most expensive football player in the world is 21-year-old Manchester City player Phil Foden. Its value is estimated at 190 million euros. Followed by the duo from Manchester United: 24-year-old Marcus Rashford (178 million) and 20-year-old Mason Greenwood (160 million). The total value of these three players is 528 million euros, slightly more than 5 billion euros.
Foden and Rashford will represent England in the European Championship, while Greenwood will not miss out due to injury. Foden’s wonderful games this season earned him the title of the best young player in the Premier League. So far, he has played for the England team six times, scoring two goals.
CIES calculates the possible transfer value of a player based on many variables, including the age of the player, his performance, club value and inflation.
The three Britons mentioned above are followed by Erlin Harland (155 million) and Bruno Fernandez (154 million euros), followed by Barcelona’s Frankie De Jong (138 million) and Pedri ( 133 million). The eighth place is Alphonso Davies (131 million), the ninth place is Joao Felix (127 million), and the ten most expensive are closed by another Englishman, Mason Mount (123 million).
Croatia is not represented in the top 100, while England has 13. Among other Croatian opponents in the European Cup group, Scotland has two players in the top 100, namely Scott McTominay (84 million) and Andy Robertson (61 million).
