US President Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland (Merrick Garland) proposed limited measures to solve the problem of armed violence, the White House’s move is the first step to combat mass shootings, bloody neighborhood conflicts and suicides.
The new measures of the Ministry of Justice will seek to eliminate homemade weapons, and the “stability belt” that turns guns into rifles must be reported and registered under the Gun Law.
The “stability belt” is a complement to modern weapons, which can replace the butt and allow the user to shoot with one hand.
Biden also said in the White House Rosary that he will ask the Office of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to issue regular annual reports on the illegal arms trade in the United States to help identify individuals who are at risk of possessing drugs.firearms
According to him, these are measures to combat armed violence, which has developed into a public health crisis. When Biden mentioned the mass shootings, the former professional player of the National Football League, African-American Phillip Adams killed five people on Thursday before committing suicide. He said that this is an “epidemic that must be stopped.”
Among today’s victims, there are two 9-year-old and 5-year-old children.
Vice President Kamala Harris said: “The country has gone through more tragedies than it can handle”, and people on both sides of the strait are seeking action.
Harris said: “The only thing left is the willingness and courage to act.”
The measures Biden proposed today have not fulfilled all the promises of the presidential campaign and no legislative actions, but the White House pointed out that the President will continue to pressure Congress to take more active steps involving gun control and reducing armed violence.
The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects the right to own weapons.
